bottle of this vintage Prosecco is corked by hand. Delicate and fresh, with tiny
bubbles. An elegant step ahead in the Prosecco category. $21.99
Giovello Prosecco (sparkling, Italy):
Pretty blue bottle! Bright, charming, and not too sweet! Excellent price! One
can hardly ask for more. $12.99
Bonny Doon Vin Gris Rose (California): A
Provencal-style rose from famous wine oddball Randall Grahm of Bonny Doon. This
is dry and elegant, with layers of minerals and delicate fruit. A great example
of California meets France! $15.99
Famaey Malbec Rose (France): Rose of
Malbec! Bright bright pink, with big ripe raspberry flavors. A fresh bright
finish balances the fruit. Perfect with spicy food! $10.99
Brumant Blanc et Rouge (France):
Attention wine geeks: these are new to Texas from the Cotes du Gascogne! They're
also really cool. The white is a Gros Manseng/Sauv Blanc blend, with big mineral
and fruit notes and a hint of oak. The red is Merlot and Tannat, and is an
awesome mix of fruit, funk, and structure. Both are $15.99
Domaine Servans Cotes du Rhone (France):
Do you need a summer weight version of Cotes du Rhone? Here you go. Mostly
Grenache, this is super juicy and fun, with a fairly light body. Give it a
little chill before you grill. $11.99
Tenuta Curezza Prine Salento (Italy): A
blend of Negroamaro and Primitivo, this is unoaked so the ripe fruit shines
through. It also has a smooth finish and overall Italian deliciousness. We loved
it. $12.99
Odfjell Armador Merlot and Cabernet
Sauvignon (Argentina via a Norwegian winemaker): You may recognize this
label if you've enjoyed their superlative Carmenere from our shelves, and we're
happy to expand the selection. The Armador Merlot has a slightly smoky nose and
dry, Old World style fruit. The Cabernet Sauvignon is a gorgeous mix of cassis,
graphite, and a hint of earth. Both are $13.99
NEW ARRIVALS: June 11 2010
We have a ton of new wines perfect for
summer! Come by and find your new favorite(s).
Tintero "Grangia" (sparkling, Italy):
This Italian sparkler was made for Austin summers. Bone dry and very refreshing,
with zesty lime and mineral notes. It's a blend of Favorita (vermentino) and
Moscato. $12.99
Mont Paral Semi-Seco Cava (sparkling,
Spain): If you want something just a bit sweet, something for a mixer,
something for brunch...look no further, this is it. $13.99
Tochuelo White & Red (Spain): These are
just fun. Chill the red down a bit and enjoy a bunch of sassy berry flavors.
Chill the white down a bit more, it's full of melon and citrus. Either one is
what you need for a picnic. $9.99
Yarden White & Red (Israel): Bordeaux
blends from Israel? Yep. The red is a perfectly fruity/spicy match for burgers
from your grill, and the white is full of refreshing melon and citrus flavors.
(Kosher, too, of course). $12.99
Giamello Barbaresco (Italy): If you
would like to celebrate, win someone's heart, or honor an amazing meal, this
wine would be a great choice. It's got earth, mushrooms, a bit of funkiness, and
yet also has beautiful aromatic fruit flavors. New to Texas from celebrated
importer Kermit Lynch. $49.99
Clos des Allees Muscadet Sevre & Maine
(France): Just the thing for oysters, or also just the thing if you like
white wines that are crisp and lemony, with finishing notes of minerals and a
hint of brine from the sea. Lovely! $14.99
Olivet Lane Pinot Noir (Russian River, CA):
Full of classic Northern California flavors...silky cherries, baking spice,
a hint of earthy funk...very pretty and a great value for Pinot from this
region. $21.99
Cooper's Bay Pinot Noir (Hawkes Bay, New
Zealand): From a cool-climate region in New Zealand, this is a very elegant
Pinot for the price. Smooth on the palate, lots of bright cherry notes. Yum!
$15.99
Easton Zinfandel (Amador County, CA):
Bill Easton knows how to make Zinfandel right. Made from 25-60 year old vines,
this is no overbearing high-alcohol Zin. Instead, it's got bright, fresh berry
flavors with a long finish. Beautifully balanced. $19.99
Andrew Peacock Merlot (Napa, CA): The
grapes for this Merlot were sourced from a high-end, super secret Napa vineyard.
(The winemaker wouldn't tell me what it was.) But he made it into some great
wine at a great price: well-structured, with rich fruit and a bit of spice on
the finish. $18.99
Daniel Gehrs Cabernet Sauvignon (Central
Coast, CA): We're really happy to have Mr. Gehrs' wines back on our shelves.
The new vintage of his Cab is particularly excellent. Blended with traditional
Bordeaux grapes, it has delicious cassis and berry flavors, with a gorgeously
aromatic nose and a beautiful finish. Bravo! $14.99
